1769-OF4 issues
I am having trouble scaling a 1769-OF4. By &by, I do these several times a year and this is the 1st one that is giving me this issue. What I want is 4mA for 0% input and 20 mA for 100% input to PID. Card seems to be working. Obviously I am not.
On the PID setup Scaling Screen: PV Unscaled Max 100.0 Eng. Units Max 100.0 Unscaled Min 0.0 Eng. Units Min 0.0 . CV Max 100% No Tieback CV Min 0% . Software manual is checked and I am operating in Manual. . Card Configuation: 1769-OF4 4 Channel Current/Voltage Analog Output Series A Rev 1.1 4 different setups with Results: 1st Result Channel 0 Enable (Check) Output Range 4mA to 20mA Data Format= Percent Range Limits: High 10625 Low -500 (Latch Limit Alarms not checked) Input to PID 0% Output from Card 4.0 mA Input to PID 25% Output from Card 12.0 mA Input to PID 50% Output from Card 20mA (why ???????) 2nd Result Channel 0 Enable (Check) Output Range 4mA to 20mA Data Format= Scaled for PID Limits: High 17407 Low -819 (Latch Limit Alarms not checked) Input to PID 0% Output from Card 4.0 mA Input to PID 25% Output from Card 8.88 mA Input to PID 50% Output from Card 13.76mA Input to PID 82.0% Output from Card 20mA (why ??????) Input to PID >82%, no change from whatever it was reading 3rd Result Channel 0 Enable (Check) Output Range 4mA to 20mA Data Format= Engineering Units Limits: High 21000 Low 3200 (Latch Limit Alarms not checked) Input to PID 0% Output from Card 3.2 mA Input to PID 25% Output from Card 5.0 mA Input to PID 50% Output from Card 10.0 mA Input to PID 75.0% Output from Card 15.0mA Input to PID 85.5% Output from Card 17.31% Input to PID >85.5%, no change from whatever it was reading (can’t get to 20mA here) 4th Result 1st Result Channel 0 Enable (Check) Output Range 4mA to 20mA Data Format= Raw Proportional Limits: High 32767 Low -32767 (Latch Limit Alarms not checked) Input to PID 0% Output from Card 12.09 mA Input to PID 25% Output from Card 13.45 mA Input to PID 50% Output from Card 14.81mA Input to PID 75% Output from Card 16.16 mA Input to PID 86.7% Output from Card 16.80 mA Any higher results in no change, no matter what the prior reading. |

Fixed it.
There was some additional program scaling (a 3 rung program so three chances to mess up !) that was limiting output. Best part, it was fixed on the OIT screen - no additional programming involved. |
