RS Logix 5000 Fatal Error Message when Opening Application

I searched for this problem on some threads , but they were dated in 2013 . When opening a program , and not all my programs , I get the following Fatal error below. I have V20.01.00 (CPR 9 SR 5) of RS Logix 5000. Have many of you had this problem , and what was the best fix ?

This is a very generic error and there are many reasons why it would happen.
Since you can open some projects, my guess will be that this is related to one of Add-On profiles installed on your computer.

There are many technote in the Knowledgebase related to the same error, but I would start with "Repair" option under control panel as described in TN 471207. You may try CTRL+SHIFT reset as well.

Are these projects created on the same computer? did somebody with a later minor rev of V20 opened them before? You can actually open these ACD files in the notepad to see it.

Thanks. In control panel , where is the repair option ? I thought it would be under right click. They were uploaded by a co-worker and e-mailed to me. I installed Studio 5000 Version 21 and I still get that error.

I suspect he may have 20.03
V21 will not help you

Repair rs logix 5000 shold be available in control panel when you double click on rslogix line

Yes Sir , your right. In control panel the only option on the double click is Uninstall.

If I highlight RSlogix 5000 v20, I can see above the list Change option.
Wizard will open and it allows repair

Just started having this issue in the last two weeks. Rockwell said to update the PLC, but the man in charge agreed that that was a risky idea.

Followed your services/change/repair instructions and it worked immediately after reboot!

Got a similar fatal error in Win8 , and selecting to run as administrator fixed mine
