Hi guys,

May I know how can I calculate the total current consumption for 1756-PA72 power supply? My input is 240V AC.

I'll use input power (max): 100VA/100W

P = VI
100 = 100 x 1
I = 1 Amp

For 240V AC
100W = 240V AC x I
I = 100W/240V AC
I = 0.42 Amp?

Is my calculation above for the current consumption correct?

Thanks in advance.

Yes it is.

Consider also the inrush current, which duration is usually about 200ms as the capacitors charge up.
