We have enough Hart transmitters to warrant getting Siemens' PDM software to configure and keep track of xmtr configurations. PDM uses a Hart modem.

We would have to run PDM from a laptop, so the Hart modem would have to run off a serial or USB port on the laptop.

I am aware of two vendors of Hart modems - SMAR and MACtek.

Anyone have any experiences one way or the other on these, or other brands?
