Hi all. Trying calibrate a metler toledo unit, however when doing the span calibration no change is happening when measuring the 4-20ma. Trier a spare unit but the same problem.

I am able change the zero figure to 4ma, the low and high cutoff values but doing the span for the 20ma figure with the weights on no change is happening i.e in this case the value is stuck at 4ma. Could a faulty load cell be preventing the value changing? There is four connected to the unit all wired together into the terminals shared.

See if you can get your hands on a load cell simulator (like the Rinstrum 0051) and see if you can calibrate and get any motion out of the unit with the simulator connected. That will tell you whether the problem is in the field or in the transmitter.

A sketch of the wiring for your load cells into the TX and the 4-20mA from your TX into your PLC (or whatever it's connected to) would probably help as well.
