Need help in Controlnet

Good day,

Sorry for the simplicity of my question but anyways if anyone can tell me if i have a rockwell controlnet communication can i communicate with other PLC brands or DCS. Thanks fo your kind replies

More for my inquiry can i send/receive data to my compactlogix plc with other plc brand or a DCS by using rockwell controlnet or i need to use modbus as my AB plc to be the slave and the other plc brand or DCS as the master.

Probably easier to bridge through the DCS than to establish direct communication between different brands of PLC. Depends upon the brand.

AB ControlNet meets all CIP standards, to the best of my knowledge. I don't know which DCS you have, but it should be able to support ControlNet comms. You would have to script some tag transfers in the DCS to communicate to another Brand X PLC that communicated with the DCS via a different protocol.

sir can you tell what are the things i need to know so that i can identify the proper modules, PLC, Cables to be used or manuals, tutorials so that i can connect to an existing DCS that uses controlnet. sorry for the newbie question this is my first project using AB PLC that needs to communicate with a DCS that uses controlnet for communication. thanks in advance
