Rslogix 500 and micrologic 1200 plc

Hey guys,

My colleague recently gave me an Allen Bradley micrologix 1200, I only have rslogix micro starter lite on my laptop. From what I can tell I need rslogix 500 to use my plc is this correct? If so is this software something I need to purchase or is it a free download?

As far as I remember, the RsLogix Micro Starter only covers the 1000 and 1100, but for the 1200 you need to buy the programming software for it...

You will have to buy a licensed version of RSLogix 500. The lowest cost option is the RSLogix 500 Starter. It was around $500 USD when I bought it several years ago. It will work on all the Micrologix line of PLC's and even SLC stuff. The only thing it wont do is online edits. You will have to go to the standard version for that.
