Hello,
I would like to be able to read useful information in S7 v5.5 about the status of the different ports on my Scalance switch; such as which port is connected, which one is not connected,...
I am actually able to know if my switch is connected or not to my PLC (and generate an alarm), but I can't get more diagnostic information. I use the SFC51 block in order to read datas in my switch. SFC51 sends me back datas in a word "eastat". I have found in Simatic manager help :
BIT 0 =1 => "I/O Status" Could somebody explain me what does it mean?
BIT 1=1 => module failure
BIT 2=1 => module is present. Here I guess it is a communication information (PLC S7300 <->Switch)
BIT3 = 1 =>unavailable module. I guess than if bit 2 = 1 then bit 3 =0. Am I right?
BIT4=1=> disabled module
and so on...
===> no very useful information as regards the management of my switch
I know there is a possibility using SNMP, but I need an OPC server + OPC client for this. I don't have it for my project.
Does somebody have some experience about it?
Thanks in advance
Benoît
