someone was doing the parking lot program before.
lot was supposed to have 20 spots. once full entrance
ramp would not open and indicator light "lot full"
would come on. you can add more functionality like
reserved parking for VIPs etc.

How about a Pump Room...
Program the following specifications;
Two 50 hp pumps w/VFD
Run only pumps required to supply a cooling system
Alternate between pumps when only one is used
Pump water at 3000 gpm / 80 PSI (+- 10psi)
Closed loop to control those vaiables
The cooling water needs to be controlled
Cooling tower with 30 hp motor and VFD
Pump to transfer sump water to the cooling tower
The 30 hp VFD is controlled by the temperature of the exiting water
Close loop
Also display the Delta T of the cooling tower.
There are a ton more variables to work with. But this is just to get your mind working.
Get on an elevator and think, how would I do this with a PLC...
(why don't they?)
Go through a car wash and do the same.
How do they know when to turn that foam **** on, there are no sensors
How do they know how long to keep the foam **** on?
