Hi Everyone,
I have been asked to provide a little demo for a local trade show next week.

I have a Panelview + 600 with a Compactlogix L16 processor mounted in a simple enclosure.

I am just looking for some simple ideas on programming of these units so that it is interactive with the people at the show. I dont have a lot of time to develop the programs so I need to use the KISS principle here.

Let me know if you have any ideas. Maybe something you have done in the past??

Thanks for any help you can provide.

It is a Local Oil Measurement show. The reason why my people want something from me is just to advertise that we are a UL508 Panel shop. I could do something related to oil measurement but was just fishing for other ideas.

I was thinking maybe something more interactive like some kind of simple game or graphics that is interactive. Something that will attract people to our display and maybe get them to hang around for awhile.

I know I am asking a vague question. I am just "brainstorming" now. Just fishing for ideas. Maybe someone out there has done something fun with this equipment and will spark a idea in me.

I was thinking about using your program. Can I use the program on a either a G12 or G306? I have both of those available.

Also to wire in a Joystick or buttons would I wire them into PLC inputs, correct?

Yes and yes. I think it would scale to the G12 much better. I think you can edit the tags I used for the buttons with sources from your device pretty easily. The code in my program is a bit of a mess. I turned it inside out at least twice during my late evening sessions playing around.

I think you would be in for a lot of work trying to make it fit on a G306.

Could I use a USB mouse or Joystick? I know Crimson has a set up for a USB Mouse and Keyboard.

I have never tried to use a mouse, but then you would have to point and click the on screen buttons (one at a time).

If you were to use real buttons, you could operate multiple actions at once. I think the latest version I uploaded has some extra buttons on there to allow you to accelerate and turn and shoot at the same time, but that would not be necessary if you have a button for each and hit more than one button at a time.
