Ace plc

Anyone used these before ( https://aceautomation.eu/ ) & ( https://aceautomation.eu/product/ace-222v10-plc-12-digital-inputs-12-digital-outputs-12-analog-inputs-1-modbus-usb-port/

I've gone an ordered one ( Ace 1800) with some RELAY boards for a digital project that I have ongoing in the home. Rather than spend £900 on siemens gear. (simple switching project with no HMI)

May be interesting....& a Challenge

How much for the software to program it, so it will be more than a £200 paperweight?

I assumed from the OP's post he already had S7 programming capabilities.

They have a couple versions... TIA Basic cost about 500USD

Professional cost more but you can also program 300 and the 1500 series, you can also program some of the HMI's with the software, its not free but not like some others (no names)

I've used several of these units. We've had 2 of the ACE11 units running in a industrial production environment for over 3 years without any problems. The unit was chosen because of the physical size, nothing else would fit. Used a 5150V10 unit with one of their Command HMI's in another application and the technician incorrectly wired one bank of inputs and bricked the unit. This is the downfall of these: no input or output protection. After rewiring and putting in a new processor with the optoisolator board options we've had no issues. Yes have access to Tia Portal and S7 via work, but was pricing up 18 DI + 18 RELAY out and it just couldn't compete. Will let all y'all know how I get on.
