Thanks in advance

Opening observations from the log file...

You are attempting a flash using the Ethernet port.

The 1769-L32E processor is flashed to firmware revision 20.11 - 1st part, then first reboot fails.

What is most likely happening is that ControlFlash is attempting a "Polling for powerup", which automatically reboots the controller, and the Ethernet port's IP address configuration is being reset. This often happens when a Static IP address has not been assigned and BOOTP is still active.

Can you verify whether the Ethernet port's configuration is Static or not? Have you or are you disabling BOOTP/DHCP? Do you have to keep reconfiguring the port settings after this issue?

Browse to the controller in RSLinx Classic and right-click on it and open the module properties. Check whether the Ethernet port is set for manual configuration. If not then set it for manual and reboot the controller and check it is retaining its IP address configuration. Double-check that manual setting is still applied and then attempt another flash.

Note: For the flash, I would advise that you make sure you are connecting directly to the controller's Ethernet port and not via a switch, etc. Also, when flashing, have just the controller, the power supply and end cap fitted properly on the CompactBus.

George

P.s. I forgot to mention that you should also disable any wireless LAN connections on your workstation.

Here is a good guide to flashing the firmware on the CompactLogix controllers...

Done!

I did both: I had forgotten to set a static IP and assign a stable IP to my PC

Thanks a lot Geospark 🍻
