PV550 612 No Active Nodes Found

I'm trying to connect a PV550 (2711-T5A2L) to a 1761-NET-AIC using a 1747-C11 cable (w/RJ45 removed) and the Phoenix connector. Can someone tell me how to connect these. I though I knew but whatever I try results in 612. Thanks, John

Don't use the "AMP" connector port, use the RJ-45 port on the PanelView.

The appropriate cable is A-B part number 1761-CBL-AS09 or -AS03, which has an RJ-45 on one side and a Phoenix combicon on the other.

Those are simpler to fabricate, and the pinout is available online (including from me, on this forum, 12 years ago !)

What bad times while using them.

@widelto: Years ago, I installed the PV550, 1761-NET-AIC and an ML1000 to a machine. Comm between the PV and the NET was via 1747-C11 cable with the RJ45 remove and a phoenix added. All was good until the PLC went bad - easy job (I thought) I'll just replace the 1000 with a 1200 but...
I tried Ken's suggestion but that didn't work either.

There are at least a dozen ML1000s on ebay for under $200; have you already spent enough time to justify one plus a few DOAs plus a few spares?

If you've replaced your "known bad" device and the connection you had before doesn't work.... then more than that device is bad or misconfigured.

Certainly it's possible the PanelView is damaged, or the 1761-NET-AIC or one or more of your cables.

But it's worth taking a look at the difference between a MicroLogix 1000 and a MicroLogix 1200 in this application.

The MicroLogix 1000 would "auto detect" DH485 traffic and switch into DH485 mode even if its serial was configured for DF1 Full Duplex.

On the MicroLogix 1200, you have to explicitly configure Channel 0 for DH485, and can still use DF1 for upload/download by pressing the DCOMM button.

PV baud rate was set at 9600, I changed it to 19200 then everything worked - even with the 1200.

While it is possible for DH485 to run at 9600 baud, it is so uncommon I have never seen it in 25 years of working with MicroLogix and SLC-500 controllers.
