Hello everyone,

I was wondering if one could program more than one AB PLCs in a single Studio 5000 project. I have programmed machines with more than one PLCs in TIA portal and was thinking if it is also possible in Studio 5000?

If yes, where can I find the option to add another PLC in the project and program it independently from the other PLC?

Regards

No. Think of a Studio 5000 project as a single controller and all the logic, data, documentation, and configuration for that single controller. Of course, that is today in 2020. That may change someday.

You can have multiple Controllers listed, however only one can have the program and be the program Controller, the others will have their own programs. It'll be how you transfer data between them, as the Produce/Consume tags will not become available until a second processor is added UNDER the ethernet tree.
