Edit 1: The mystery deepens. I fixed the below issue when I use an external power source for my field device but I want to configure the test output points on the IB8S as 24vdc power supplies. When I do this I get 0 volts out. Thoughts?
I have a Compact GuardLogix 5380 with the following cards:
Slot 1) IB8S
Slot 2) IB8S
Slot 3) OB8S
Slot 4) IF8
I've connected my field device (STBVP6) to inputs 0/1 of Slot 2.
The field device has power and shows an output light when I activate it but the actual input on slot 2 has a red icon.
In my Logix Designer I configured slot 2 Input points 0 and 1 as Safety each.
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? In the program I can read there is a fault on those points but not data.
