PanelView700 Fatal 3B

Panelview Plus 700/2711P-RDK7C/Logic Module 2711P-RP8D/Factory Talk View Studio 12.00.00/Windows10. Ethernet.
I bought a brand new PVP700 display unit. I attached the old Logic board and message appeared FATAL 3B. Docs determine this is a firmware upgrade needed. I downloaded file to PC ok. Cant hookup to the display using ethernet. I know the IP address is 192.168.9.255 from cmdprmpt arp-a. I can see the panel in runtime target panel. Using firmware upgrade facility just wont connect to terminal

any IP address ending in .255 is a broadcast address, IIRC, not an individual host's IP address.

Hmmm, 169.254. is the prefix Windows uses when it fails to get IP settings via DHCP, IIRC.

Unless the host that is trying to connect to the PanelView also has an IP address on the 169.254.0.0/16 network, it cannot connect.

Give your pc a IPv4 address, if you think that the HMI is in the 192.168.10.x, give your laptop the address 192.168.10.254, usually with all PLCs and HMIs you need to give your PC/laptop a static address.
