Hello,

I have never created an HMI project using Global Objects before in FTView ME, so please forgive me if this is ignorant. I need to modify the read-write values a Global Object is connected to, but it is not singular tag based so they reference #'s. I do not know where to find what tags these #'s are connected to. Can someone point me to them if you've experienced this before please?

See attachment if my explanation was confusing.

Thank you,

Hi Ryan

The global object are usaly copied on to other screens and used mulitiple times, the #101 is a placeholder that when you paste the object on to anther screen will be replaced by a tag to point at the control device. I think this is talked about in the manual viewme-um004_-en-e in chapter 25 about page 374

Thanks Nick

I see now; I was not paying attention to the Global Parameter part. You assign them these # place holders and in the reference object on any one display when you right click it you can select Global Object Parameter Values to see what tags are used in them individually.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!

Step 1: Right click your global object and you'll see an option to define parameters for the global object.

Step 2: After you copy/paste the global object onto a display, right click the object and you'll see an option to set parameter values. You'll see the description of parameters you created in Step 1. Then feed your tags into these parameters.

This process is a whole lot easier if your PLC has a UDT or AOI, because then you can feed your global object a single UDT or AOI base tag and then reference the extensions when you create the global object.
