PanelView Plus 1000

One of My PV+1000 HMI screen failed and i did not hjave the program saved anywhere else.
I have a similar machine right next to it and intend to upload the HMI program from that machine change the tags and tag addressing.
I use Panelbuider32 for the rest of the panelview 1000's in the plant. I'm not sure if PB32 will allow me to upload from Panelview plus 1000 and convert the .MER to a workable file. Or do i need another software for this purpose?
Please help.
While we are at it, what is the difference between the RS HMI softwares,
PanelBuilder32,
RSView32 Studio,
RSview32 ME,
RSView32 Worx,
FactoryTalk View Sudio??
FactoryTalk View ME
All iknow is they are all associated with HMI and SCADA. Why not only One??????? or Two??

For PanelView Pluses, you will need to use either FTView Studio ME or FTView SE Studio.

BTW there's no such animal as RSView32 Studio. Studio is for FTView ME and FTView SE stuff.

FactoryTalk View Studio is for the PV+(Pv600+, Pv1000+, etc)

How do i know i need the Ftview studio SE or the Ftview studio ME????

FTView ME Studio will create the runtime files (.mer) for Panelview Pluses and the ME Station which runs on a PC. The FTView Studio will do all the ME Studio does, plus support FTView SE applications. If your not going to do any SE applications, get ME Studio.

RSView32 applications of course. RSView32 is an older HMI package that is still widely used. It's designed mainly for stand alone applications although it does have a basic capability for remote clients. FTView SE is better design for distributed apps.

I have had success in the past with putting a new screen on the old logic and comms modules. The application came up fine after power up. No doubt you need to get the software for archiving and any future project changes, but this might get your machine up and running.

You want to downgrade the *.mer or *.apa file down to a PB32 for a PV1000? Or are you looking to upgrade a PB32 file up to a new PV1000+ FT Studio application?

There is a method in which you can upgrade the old studio applications by importing the file. Its hidden right at the beginning when you are creating a new file, just select the second tab rather than specifying a new name.
