All,
I am trying to understand what information "source a" is referencing in an EQU instruction (RSLogix5000). It points to a tag, the. lists another tag in brackets. Can anyone help me understand what is happening here? Is this an expression.

i.e:
EQU
Source A String[DINT].dest

Whereas my first tag is a string data type, the tag in the brackets is a DINT...

Thanks in advance

That looks to be an indirect reference. It will point to the element in your array to what "DINT" equates to.
