Hi,Good day.

I am studying the communication between PLC and RS485 in Temperature Controller. I would like to view process temperature and set temperature by using touch screen HMI.

However, is the protocol a main concern in this case. If let say, the RS485 in temperature controller is MODBUS or DEVICE NET, then is it true that RS 485 in PLC must also have these same protocol?

Thank you.

If the temperature controller has a Modbus RTU interface, you will require Modus RTU communications in your PLC. If the temp controller is Device Net interface, you will require a Device Net Scanner in your PLC.
