I have a A/B 1771-OA card that has enough leakage to keep a 120v solenoid powered. Should I add a MOV or simply replace the card?

MOV won't help. Leakage for that card should be 2ma maximum. If its greater than that than I would suspect the card. Can you check it against the solenoid specs?

Low power loads may need some parallel resistance to reach the minimum load spec.

I haven't seen the problem with the 1771-OA but it was very common with the 1771-OM.

Put 16K+/1w or 12K+/2W resistor in parallel with load.
This will fix it.
It's imortant to have in parallel.

Does anyone know the part number for that plug that plugs into the 1771 devicenet scanner? The manual just says it is a linear plug, its 5 pins.
