Just started a new job, which is all good.

Total Newbe to GX Developer (always used medoc)

Keep getting error message as follows

An unusable com port was specified. Execute again after checking the com port settings. <ES:01808009>

I'am using com port one! but from what i can gather this is DUFF!!!
Is there a way round this ?

Any advice would be Great Cheers Will

It's just what it says, change COM port.
Default port is COM1, so if you are using different port
like USB<>RS232 converter, go to menu option ONLINE,
choose Transfer Setup and make change as required.
Top row is PC side selection and first icon is RS232 or USB.
Just click on it and choose valid com port number.
In case selected com port number is correct, make sure that
other applications are not using it (like RSLinx or ActiveSync).
You can test if port is installed correctly and free to use
by trying to open it with other application like Hyperterminal.
If Hyperterminal can use it, GX Developer will be ok with it too
(just not both at the same time of course).
