Win911?

Hello,
After using SCADAlarm on several WonderWare projects, I decided to try out Win911 on a Citect project I am currently working on. So far, I have had to download replacement modem drivers for the TAPI modem Win911 supplied. Now, Win911 will dial out on a few alarms (usually between two and six), then when it dials out, it won't play any messages. I am currently using Text-to-Speech, and the modem supplied is an AOpen PCI modem. This being my first experience with Win911, I'm not sure if this is going to be software or modem issues. I'm trying to get some opinions from current users before I get tied up with their tech support. Thanks.

Did you get the Telephony Card with your software? If I remember correctly you need that to do text to speech. But it has been a while since I used it.

In the Version 7 manual, it says the text-to-speech can be used with any supported TAPI modem. I wouldn't think that would be the problem, but to make sure, I may try to use WAV files instead of the text-to-speech and see if that makes any difference.

Please note that TAPI voice modems are not reliable enough for telephony. My suggestion: use real telephony card (such as Dialogic/Intel). To read more please see the following link:
