Older PanelView

Greetings all:

I have a Panelview (2711-T10C3) can I get it to communicate to a 504?

This model does not have DH+ only DH and I thought I read one of Ken post that the 232 is still 485???

I have tried a few different things and can’t get my laptop to communicate with it either.

Doesn't that one have a DH-485 (looks like Ethernet) port or is it a 9 pin plus RS-232 Serial Port?

I think you would need an AIC and Channel 0

The RS-232 port is for printing only. You can't upload and download through it

According to the manual, page 166, you need an AIC module. Look at the chart where it shows 2711-xxxx3 and match it to the 5/04. Of course, Ken, Ron, or some of the others may know other possibilities. http://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/um/2711-um014_-en-p.pdf

Yep, the C3 at the end of the part # indicates a DH485 PanelView. Any serial port would only be an upload/download or printer port. You would need an AIC+ attached to the serial port of the SLC 5/04. and probably another AIC for the PanelView.
