Can anyone tell me the advantages and disadvantages of digital and analogue signalling used in plc's.

Also,
A transducer has 0 to 10v output.
When the transducer is measuring 0mm the outputis 0 volts
when it is measuring 100mm the output is 10 volts.
Can anyone calculate the accuracy when used in a 6 bit, 10 bit and 12 bit, system.

It's bad enough having to put up with unitary PLCs, but for the course to fail in distinguishing between accuracy and resolution is a bit much!
