Hope that you willl solve my problem,
I am having PanelView 550 (CAT 2711- B5A2), with only DH 485 port, But I don't have PIC converter to connect it to serial port of my PC. Can it be possible to download the program the program by using RS485 t0 RS 232 converter, and after downloading DH485 of PV550 to SLC500. Please help me
 
For Upload & download the PV should be connected to SLC & communicating with it & you need UIC Converter or 1747- PIC device to Download or upload the application

Every thing I read backs up what rPraveenkum stated. I have never tried
a regular RS232 to RS485 converter, so your on your own there. Sorry I'm not being very helpful with this one.

You could also try using the Flash memory card, that may be easier.
the PV550 can save its application onto a card as a file; you can then put the flashcard into a laptop or PC card reader and open it with Panelbuilder.
Make your changes, then save it as a PanelView file, then the PV500 can open and load the new file.
