Rslogix 5000 error

Anyone ever seen this error in logix 5000? Failed to go online with the controller. Invalid communications path or controller not responding. In the left hand side of the box I have the error 701-0004200c. I spoke to tec support and was told I can not find anything on that error. My other laptop is almost identical and i have no issues to the same processor. With the new laptop I can see everything in linx but I recieve this error in 5000.

both firmware version & the RSL5k version are same?

While I don't know that error code, that message means the path in the online toolbar is not correct for your controller.

Try going online without using any shortcuts.

Select Communications from the menu bar
Select Who Active
Expand the proper network driver until you find your controller
Select the controller
Click Online
