Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if this is do-able? I know you can get a sr2com01 to send alarms and all but all i really need is something to log the output/analog values from the rs232 cable

Thanks in advance

p/s i got a sr2b201bd

The Zelio is a smart relay not a PLC, I do not believe that it has any logging capability. I am not sure that it is even possible to "pull" these values from it.

Sure - if you have a PC running an OPC server communicating with it you have lots of options.

Surely it can do something. I mean it shows the status and analog values in monitoring mode (connected via rs232 to PC)

I agree completely with Jim Dungar. This is a smart relay, not a PLC, and as such it is limited in fuctionality. Logging is a typical function of a PLC, and typically one of the things which is removed from the lower cost smart relays.

I know you can use 4 words data with canopen to another zelio or to an HMI or plc. I will find out if you can use straight to pc.....if you have a the specified modem at the pc and the zelio comms module with a modem there you can send to data to and from the pc. You get a package for ur pc (almost like a scada) free for using the modem options
Then just trigger the data sending to the pc and view in in a graphical form

I'm not sure. How do you want to connect? I believe this driver (OPC Server) from Matrikon connects via Modbus. There have got to be others.

Then you could use a program like FactorySQL to log the data, or any number of HMI packages/OPC utilities. (I'm still working on getting a free data logging only version of FactorySQL).

This only works if your connecting via sr2com01 and modbus right?

Here is a link to download zeliosoftcom (free)
http://download.telemecanique.com/Repository/index.nsf/aa_getdocs?OpenAgent&L=EN&p=542&c=group10~EN

It is made for logging alarms and analgue values.
The only thing is I think you have to do the comms via rtc or gsm(I might be wrong because somewhere in the help file it says something about using the zelio programming cable to log alarms and analogues in zeliosoftcom).
Still they are not expensive.

Here is the pdf file to show an overview of what it can do. I think its very nice for simple applications

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I've went through them and did my own research. Very tedious work -_- but i finally found my solution:

Update zelio firmware. The latest firmware comes with new features which lets u send and receive analog data via the serial cable. In FBD is called SLOUT and SLIN.

I've written a ms access db for it and now its happily monitoring the zelio =)
