Measure conveyor speed in ft/m

I ordered a sensor from Banner to measure a chain conveyor speed. This sensor has a U shape gate and each time that the beam from transmitter to receiver breaks ,it sends a signal to my PLC's input so I can count them.
The purpose of doing this is to show any inconsistency in conveyor speed.I can measure the pulses in a 10sec. frame time and compare them with the next 10sec.,but the question is how to convert them to ft/m ( the conveyor speed).

Any ideas?

If every pulse represent the same amount of distance traveled, then the number of pulses per 10 seconds times the distance per pulse equals distance per 10 sevconds.
