Pico- (symbol p) is a prefix (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SI_prefix) denoting a factor of 10-12 in the International System of Units (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_System_of_Units) (SI).You might say that a "pico-guard controller" would be a very small guard controller.
