Connect PLC 5/20 to serial modem

Can anyone explain to me how to make a serial modem connection to PLC 5/20?

Right now a customer has a PLC 5/20 and a phone line, and I am going to send to them an external modem: BEST DATA Smart One 56X.

Does it work if directly install to the serial port (RS232) of the PLC?
