Dear all,

Would any master please help me to solve the SLC5/05 hotstandby Remote IO system. I had connect the system as per manual stated but only my Primary SLC can run and the Secondary don't run and give error:
"Specially I/O module in slot 1 has not responsed to a command as being completed within the required time limit" and program keep on stopped by error.

I had config the system and connect as per manual with Belden 9463 cable:
1. Connection between 2 BSN HSSL
2. Connect 2 BSN at the RIO terminal and ASB with 82ohm 1/2Watt resistor add to the terminal at 1st BSN and the ASB.

however, system cannot work and on
Rack 1 BSN shows:
1. Steady Green Primary Light
2. Flashing Green RIO Light
3. Flashing Red ERR Light
4. HSSL off

Rack 2 BSN shows:
1. Primary and Secondary off
2. RIO off
3. ERR off
4. HSSL off
5. FLT Flashing Red

Remote Rack keeps on show:
1. COM Flashing Green
2. Fault Off
3. Status display ArE

My SLC system config as below:
Rack 1 (4 Slot)
SLC551
1747-BSN

Rack 2 (4 Slot)
SLC551
1747-BSN

Remote Rack (10 Slot)
1747-ASB
1746-IB32 (5 nos.)
1746-OV32 (1 no.)
1746-NI8 (2 nos.)

My 1747-BSN config as below:
Master (Rack 1)
010001 230.4K Speed, Last Module
0000 Address=1 (Slot 1)

Slave (Rack 2)
010000 230.4K Speed, All Others
0000 Address=1 (Slot 1)

My 1747-ASB config as below:
I use 1/2 slot config with speed 230.4K
11111111 (Dip SW 1)
01011001 (Dip SW 2)
11100111 (Dip SW 3)

Best Rgds.,
Man

P.S.: I had getting tired of solving the problem and would any master can give me some hints or solution. Thousand Thanks in advance for your kindly Assistance.

A quick test may be to see what happens if you swap the BSN modules between chassis 1 and 2. That type of error usually indicates a hardware error (be it the module or the chassis).

Your configuration sounds okay, but my concern is if there has been a failure of the BSN itself. If you swap the locations of the modules between Rack 1 and Rack 2, you can see if the error follows the module or remains on Rack 2. If it follows the module, you may want to replace the BSN. If it remains on Rack 2, there may be a chassis issue at that slot.
