Siemens s7-300 software

hi guys i have been asked to look at what software we will need for s7-300 as i dont know anything about siemens i am not to sure what to look for, can anyone help i was told that there are bolt on packages as well???

Go for Step 7 Professional. You get Simatic manager, SCL editor (pascal type language), GRAPH editor (for sequences) and PLCSIM for simulating your program if you do not have continual access to a CPU.

I believe you can download a free limited lite version of Step 7 to play with as well
