omron plc41 data change

If you are connected to the plc and change the editor to data editor and select DM (data area) my question is this. Are you changing the online value in the plc or are you changing the buffer file in the computer? And do you have to download data after the change to get it in to the Plc? Thanks.

Depends on which software you are using and if you are monitoring the data in that editor.

Assuming you are using CXProgrammer:

In the data editior, click on the eyeglass symbol (online monitoring), then you will be changing the live value.
