AB Microloix 1100 PID Question

I have question about PID Being put into Manual
I understand that placing PD?:/AM ON puts the PID
into Manual mode, After that can I write directly
to the PV output Only? Or do also have to write to the PD?:/CVP? I have seen Programs this way. From my under standing the PD?:/CVP is for telling you PV% when the PID is in Auto. Is this done to make a Bumpless Transfer when putting back into Auto? Thanks For any Input.

PV Process Variable comes from external world ( pressure, temp, flow etc) and can not be changed, but you can change CV control variable.
