A-b switch

Thanks in advance. Who makes a 30 amp load transfer switch. Have 2 5 Hp pumps 3 phase. Need a switch to transfer the across the line starter to pump A then next week use pump B Would like a pannel mounted unit.

For the price, I've been happy with ACI rotary switches (LINK), although there are plenty of others. ACI is what MSC and McMaster sell, so they're quick to get.

I question why you want to run all those wires to a panel-mount switch. Why not just use 2 interlocked contactors, and choose which one energizes with a standard selector switch?

I agree with Eric and would even feed the pumps from independent breakers and then control with independent relays. Which pump to run can be done with start switches.

The advantage here is complete redundancy, ability to maintain or repair one pump while other is on line. Safer for employees also.

The switch is pad lockable, perferct, Reason- back plane panel space.
