Communication Siemens s7 and Citect SCADA v7.1

Hi,

We are 4 students at Fagskolen Telemark in Norway who are trying to make a project which are using CitectScada and Siemens s7. The project is a color sorter with silos, level measurement, coloursorter (RGB) and electrical driven conveyor belts.

In this, we are not familiar with the connection between S7 and Citect. We are trying to use the PSDIRECT driver from CItect, but are not sure how to adress and connect the S7 and the Citect program.

Is there anybody who can give us a quick tutorial, or send me some links which can bel helpful?

Have you tried using OPC for this? Here is an OPC Server for Siemens S7 PLC:
http://www.matrikonopc.com/opc-drivers/opc-siemens-s7-plc/base-driver-details.aspx

It will detect your S7 Plcs automatically. All you need to do after that is to connect Citect's OPC Client to the OPC Server for Siemens.

If your Citect doesn't have an OPC Server, install this OPC Server:
http://www.matrikonopc.com/opc-drivers/190/base-driver-details.aspx

and then connect both OPC Servers together with OPC Data Manager:
