Although I learned how to program with the LCD Programmer, I found that the computer and interface was a lot easier to use. A simple interface can be built for practically nothing.
I would reccommend doing that instead of paying $200 - $500 for the LCD Programmer.
The Toshiba EX40 is interchangable with the Cutler Hammer D100 model CR40 and the interface will work for it.

thanks. i will run it past the owner and see what route he wants to take. i agree that the interface would be the best alternative but my level of expertise and available resources may make the project even more costly time wise.
Without knowing the scope of the project it would be hard for me to say which is the most cost effective way. I do know that the LCD programmer is very time consuming even for very small changes. Also, making a printout is simple with the software/interface, but it would be very difficult using the LCD Programmer.
