As far as Siemens goes I have only ever used regular Step 7 and S7-300 and S7-400 series CPUs. I have a customer who wants something done with the S7-1200 series. My understanding is that the software for these is vastly different than the Siemens I am used to. How different are we really talking? Can I apply anything I know in the Step 7 I am used to for the S7-1200 series or should I expect a "from scratch" learning curve?
As a frame of reference, even though for example RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000 are very different, they are also very similar. If you are proficient in 500 I don't think it is that much of a learning curve to be productive with 5000. Are the differences with the two Siemens softwares similar in nature?
