basic seimens question

am is sitting and working with simens simatic step 7 5.5 and my question is:

is ther any simulation option so i can run programs with out being connected to a plc?
 
Options > Simulate Modules
PG/PC interface > PC Adapter (MPI)

Now you have a simulated PLC to which you can download and use as a real PLC. Obviously not connected to real IO, you have to simulate those yourself.
