Can this proccessor be used with rslogix5000 v20?

I see on the allen bradley website that there is a firmware version 16. I believe this is the highest it goes. Is this controller capable updating to 16? And does the processor firmware revision usually correspond with the version of software your running?

For example this can go to firmware revision 16 so is RSlogix 5000 v16 the highest it can be used with?Can this processor be used with v20 of rslogix5000?

L55 processors can only be flashed up to version 16. You will need version 16 of Logix5000 to program it. Version 20 Logix 5000 won't work. But you can have multiple versions of 5000 on your computer.

You are correct in your thinking. If this controller's firmware is not at v16.xx, then it may be flashed to v16.xx max. The major revision "16".xx of RSLogix 5000 must match the major revision "16".xx of the controller's current firmware. If the controller's firmware was still at say v13.xx then you would require RSLogix 5000 v13.xx. As RSLogix 5000 v20.xx does not, and cannot match this controller's possible firmware revisions of 10.xx - 16.xx, then it is not, and cannot be compatible.
