Hi,

I have a question regarding the use of the Auxiliary Encoder ports on the 1394 GMC controller. I understand how they are used with the 1394-DIM module (controlling external analog servo drives).

but...

If my application uses 4 axes w/ resolver feedback, can the corresponding Aux Encoder ports be used for other purposes? For example, to create a follower axis?

My impression is that when a resolver port is used, the corresponding Aux Encoder port cannot be used.

The 1394 documentation has little to say about the Aux Encoder ports (except when using a DIM module).

Thanks,

Tracy
