Slowing the scan time is a particularly poor way to work around a problem that you perceive as being related to scan time.If i said i cant fill you in as to why it needs to be done this way dont you think there is a REASON.
Most PLCs are set up to have a watchdog timer associated with the I/O service. If the physical I/O points are not serviced within the watchdog timer preset value, the PLC gets shut down and all of the outputs are commanded to their default states, generally OFF. That's because if the PLC is not communicating with the I/O points, the machine is not under control.
That's why the questions were raised by your statement that you weren't allowed to solve your problem any other way.
