If you want to import only objects from a screen (and NOT the entire screen or application), then you will have to use XML.
You can export a display to XML format; that is plain text so you can easily view it in NotePad ++.
XML editing a FactoryTalk View screen is an advanced topic; you have to be good at editing XML files.
You can edit the files in a plain text editor, such as Notepad++. But that is only good for simple changes.
If you want to try it in Excel, here is a start:
1) Create a new displays with two copies of each object that you want to create. Configure all the options that you want to adjust (ex. if you want visibility animation, then you need to apply that now).
2) Export the display to XML. Create a copy of that XML file; one is the original and the other is the copy you will edit.
3) Open that XML file in Excel.
XML file editing in Excel is a whole topic on its own. Search YouTube on how to import/export XML in Excel.
4) After you export the data out of Excel into XML then you will need to manually adjust your new XML file. Excel will save a different root element/attribute and that does not import into FactoryTalk View.
Open both the original XML file and your new one in Notepad ++. Compare the opening elements and attributes and make sure the new file is the same as the original.
Start with very small changes and get that working first. Then try creating new objects.
Good luck with it.
