Hi all,

The Bar-code Scaner connection cable are using RS232 connect to Omron PLC.

What kind instructions to receive the bar-code?

Thanks in advance,

Look under the Communication Instructions in the manual for your Omron PLC.
The instruction is usually a Receive - RXD(47)
What is the model of Omron PLC?
How are you connecting the barcode scanner? (RS232?) and what port?

Regards,

I'll sum up what others have said, just to put it all in one spot. :)

1) Model of PLC.
2) Model of scanner.
3) Type of connection (RS232, RS422, RS485, etc.)

These three things will let us help you further and let you know what other support hardware you may need.

Hi Jordan,

The details as below:
1) Model of PLC = Omron CP1E E40
2) Model of scanner = Keyence barcode scanner SR-1000
3) Type of connection = RS232(SR-1000 directly communicate to CP1E)

Thanks man,

You will also need to verify the RS232 cable connection.

The Omron 9 pin connector does not use a standard pin out.

Hope this will help.

Do you mean RS232 communicate to PLC of pin 5 change to pin 9?

The specification was wrote as above.

In CP1E the instruction of receive is RXD(235).

How to set RXD(235) receive scanner data?

Thanks in advance,

splendid8877,
In the same manual that you posted a page from, go to section 13.
This explains PLC Link communications.
The CP1E also supports PLC Link.
This will most likely be the easiest way to handle communications between the PLC and scanner.

Hope this will help.

Agreed. This way the scanner writes directly into the PLC memory. If my own memory serves, there's a counter you can monitor that increments whenever data is sent.

Do you know how to use RS232 PLC of tx signal to trigger scanner?

*The communication baud should setting 9600 or 115200 and choose which format?

It really doesn't matter, as long as they match on both ends. Personally, I'd set the PLC to whatever the default is for the scanner. It's far more likely that the scanner will be replaced before the PLC, so using the scanner defaults is one less thing to worry about.

*How to set start code and end code?
We're trying to direct you to use PC Link. Set the Mode to PC Link (Master) and you you won't have to worry about start and end codes.
