I'm calling upon all of the well water treatment folks out there for some help as this is an area not currently in my knowledgebase. I searched for well water treatment forums that handled such questions but came up empty.

Our plant has a bank of media filters to pre-filter our incoming well water prior to softening. The current material has served us well over the years but filters need re-bedding. Our supplier tells us that they cannot get that same material any longer (apparently someone bought it all up for themselves) without paying a king's ransom. I'm looking for other materials we should check out as a suitable alternative.

Currently, each filter handles anywhere from 15-35 gpm with 60-70 psi incoming supply pressure. Incoming well water has hardness from 10-24 grains & trace-1ppm iron.

If any other info is needed, I'll do my best to provide it. Thanks in advance for your help!
