Port Adapter

You need a port adapter. It will adapt your 9 pin serial port to a 25 pin to fit the Siemens cable. I know you are not in the states, but Radio shack here in the states carries them. You may be able to find one at your local electronics dealer.

Well...the 6ES5 734-1BD20 uses only 3 of the pins on the 25D connector so if your adaptor has wired as a minimum...

D25 ________ D9

2 ------------ 3
3 ------------ 2
7 ------------ 5

....then it should work

Wink

In the following circumstances I always make my cables, using off the shelf cables with wires not needed sometimes makes problems. Just make a 3 conductor cable using the 3 pins stated above with a db25sub on one side and a db9sub on the other.

Port Adapter

Chandrashekar;

That sounds like the adaptor that I use (i just looked at mine to make sure). Just plug it in to the Siemens cable and then into the RS 232/serial port on your laptop and it should work if the software is configured correctly.
