Hi,

I'm after a little help please. I program 95% siemens PLCs, then once a flood I get a rockwell project - so I tend to go a little rusty/ get out of date.

I've been given a hardware spec from our controls team that specifies the following PLC structure:
1769-L16ER-BB1B CPU
1769-IQ16
1769-OB32
1769-IF8
1769-OF4

When I go into the studio 5000 (v30) - I specify the PLC in the 'create new project', but when I go to 'add modules' under either 'Point IO' or 'Expansion IO' on the bottom of the left hand menu, I can only select IO cards that begin with 1734?

Help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Rob

The L16's local bus is for 1734 I/O only.

If you want to use 1769 I/O, you could use a 1769-AENTR and connect to the L16 via Ethernet. Or pick an L2y or L3y processor instead.

Hi Rob,

The 1769-L16, L18, L19 all use the 1734 series as the add on I/O modules, the 1769 IO modules will fit the other CPU's such as L35E, L32E, L30, L33, etc

Your controls team needs to give you a different processor or different IO
