2 power feeds into one cabinet

I think you would be fine doing that, another perhaps simplier option is to use a control transformer (1500VA) to provide the 120V from the supply 480V. This way you only have one power supply.

The panel that I designed/built that started this thread sourced its 120V from one of the 480V feeds through a transformer.
 
Thanks mccormick, only thing is I have not space for the transformer. Which of the options using the relay or the 4 pole disconnect.

How can a 6 amp contact be able to power a 10 amp circuit?
it can't and will either weld the contact or burn it up.


I would use a 2 kva 480 / 120 volt sealed xformer and mount it to the outside of the enclosure and power it from the main disconnect. you only have 1 power source and avoid having a lot of special wiring and documentation rules.

This is your best option IMO. You will (probably) require a 2 pole fuse for the primary and 1 pole fuse for the secondary in the panel - but the transformer can be mounted outside.
