AB or Siemens

Max. number of I/O modules for L32E/L35E is 16.

Little correction on this information:
L32E can have max. 16 units of local I/O
L35E can have max. 30 units of local I/O

I have been an Allen Bradley guy for years. But, I have been going with cheaper PLC's like micro PLC's, which I have software for each. As, long you have both programming software for both Siemens and Allen Bradley, use whatever you are happy with.

Local support should be your #1 concern. Who stocks parts (eventhough stock now means 2-3 weeks)

Jeez and I complain if I do not get it the next day!!!
Dislike the Siemens software immensely. AB is my second choice PLC software. Bit too slow for development though for my liking.
Just wrote software for 3 generators, 3 auxiliary boards, 1 fuel pump board, 1 master PLC - Ethernet IP network - heaps on the network - 4 touch screens in 3 days.
10 lots of Modbus RTU comms as well.

Stay FAR, FAR away from Siemens PLCs because it takes 10x more engineering time writing software compared to CompactLogix PLC. Trust me on this - not because I have 15+ years experience as a controls engineer, but because I'm human being that cares for others. Siemens will frustrate the sh!t out of you. Stick with AB. my two cents, to me siemens seems to be complicated, Allen bradley is so easy that you just need to know instructions and put your mind to work.
